Great introduction to open backed headphones, March 29, 2011 By C. Striemer – This is my first set of open backed headphones and I must confess I am mighty happy with them. The soundstaging is great and the tonalities are wonderful. However some female vocals can seem a bit recessed. I know some people like to rail on the bass for these cans, but while not overpowering there is plenty of quality bass. You may not be able to feel it but you can hear it if you’re listening for it. I will agree that you probably need a bigger head for these to fit properly. the biggest thing is that the earpads are massive but it definitely helps with the soundstaging. Overall I am very happy with this headphone and it will now likely make upgrade to the AD900s sometime in the future.
